Eucalyptus Bark

Looking through a view camera is very unique way to see the world!  The image is upside-down and reversed from left to right.  Viewing the composition in this way helps to remove the scene from reality and allows the photographer to see more of the graphic design elements in the image, rather than just seeing the obvious subject.

While photographing close-ups of the Eucalyptus trees at the campus of Cal Poly, Pomona, I came upon this detail on one that had just shed it bark.  Once I saw the composition on the ground-glass, I liked the way it looked upside-down better than right-side up.  So, I print this image upside-down!
